J L Long Orchestra allows students to explore creativity through string instruments and develop musical skills through instruction and performance.

The orchestra consists of a beginning strings program and a Varsity and Non-Varsity orchestra.  Orchestra members have the opportunity to participate in:

• Several performances each year 
• All City and All Region Orchestra Auditions 
• UIL Concert and Sight-reading competitions
• Fine Arts Holiday Tour
