Cell Phone Pouch Implementation

Starting Tuesday, August 12th, students will use cell phone pouches to house their phones for the school day.

In line with House Bill 1481 and the district-wide shift to a device-free learning environment, here’s what you need to know:

Quick Recap of the Policy:

 •     No personal devices may be used during the instructional day — this includes phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, Bluetooth headphones, or smart glasses.

 •     Devices must remain off and stored at all times during the school day.

 •     Devices that are seen or used will be confiscated, per the Student Code of Conduct.

 •     Students with documented medical or instructional needs may be issued an alternate pouch to use.

Additional Notes:

 •    This is a Texas state law — not just a Dallas ISD policy.

 •    Participation and consequences begins on Day 1: Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025.

Damage or Loss?

Here’s the Cost:

•    Damaged or lost Yondr pouch: $20 replacement fee

•    Lost or damaged Student ID badge: $5 replacement fee

Please take care of your pouch and badge, as they’re essential for daily participation, compliance, and safety!
