I want to acknowledge the profound loss felt by our Woodrow Wilson High School community following the tragic death of a student. My deepest condolences are with the student’s family, friends, and all those affected. This is heartbreaking, and our community is grieving.

Student safety is our highest priority. In response to this incident, the district is carefully examining our safety practices and building on existing safety measures across campuses. We are also working closely with the City of Dallas and the Department of Parks and Recreation to review and enhance current practices in the areas surrounding our schools. A joint district and city community meeting will be held on February 10 at 5:30 p.m. at Woodrow to share concrete steps being taken to improve safety and to hear directly from families and community members.
