J.L. LONG MIDDLE SCHOOL – 2020 VIRTUAL LEARNING INFORMATION

SCHOOL STARTS virtual learning on Tuesday, September 8 at 8:25 am.

Students can also use their home/personal computers to login each day as well.

LOGGING IN EACH DAY: Students are required to login to every class on every day. 

Students login through Google Classroom for their zoom links, assignments, attendance, etc. In the google classroom, each teacher will post the Zoom link for the class and all other necessary information. To login to Google Classroom, students use their school/ student email. If your child does not have their email or is having problems, please contact administrators.

ONLINE CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT:  Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday are synchronous learning days where students attend a live teacher-led lesson through Zoom for each class.  Wednesdays are asynchronous learning where students must still log in each class for attendance, but is a working day with no live video conferences for each class.  

UNIFORM: For virtual learning, students are NOT required to wear uniforms. However, we highly encourage students to wear clothing other than pajamas to create an environment similar to a classroom setting, which will help them get more and more acclimated to being in learning mode versus off-school mode.

SPECIFIC CLASS & TEACHER EXPECTATIONS: Each teacher will communicate expectations for their virtual class along with any specific supplies, syllabus, assignments and tests.  If you have any specific questions, teacher emails are listed in PowerSchool or Google classroom spreadsheet.
