MAP Testing Information

Students will taking the MAP test over the next two weeks according the the schedule shown below.

What is MAP? MAP, or the Measure of Academic Progress, is a computerized adaptive test which helps teachers, parents and administrators improve learning for all students and make informed decisions to promote a child's academic growth.

Why give MAP?  MAP Growth provides data on student readiness that can be used to differentiate instruction.  MAP Growth provides growth data that can be used over time to ensure that students are meeting growth expectations.

What are we doing?  We are asking each student to come on campus from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm on their assigned day to be welcomed back to school and take their beginning of year assessment.

Why are we doing this?  With more than six months since our last "normal" school experience, it is more important than ever to know where are students are academically.  Teachers need this vital information to support students in their learning journey and adapt instructions to each students' needs.

Does my student have to come to campus for MAP Testing?  Individuals who cannot attend on-campus testing can request to take the assessment at home HERE.

How will this work?

  • Each day we will host a group of students based on the MAP Testing Schedule to help with safety protocols and distancing.
  • Students will take both tests during their time at the school, each one is about an hour long.
  • Students will enter the building at the gym doors (off of Paulus) and will be directed to their testing location.
  • All students must wear a mask into the building and for the duration of their time in the building (with the exception of meal time).
  • Students may wear a uniform, college shirt or spirit wear with uniform bottoms.
  • All students must bring their own, fully-charged laptop for testing as well as a pair of headphones/earbuds.  They may use their own personal laptop or their district issued Chromebook.  If your student does not have a laptop that they can bring to school for testing, one will be provided.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided for students, but they may also bring a lunch if preferred.
  • When students are not testing, they will have the opportunity to log into Google Classrooms to complete assignments in their classes.  Learning will be asynchronous for grade levels on their testing days.
  • Students will be dismissed from various entrances at 2:00 pm and will meet parents at their cars or will make their way to buses.
  • Bus transportation will be provided according the the Bus Schedule.
