- No hoodies. This is to increase safety and security (hoodies up limits visibility to campus cameras and staff).
- Skirts and shorts must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee.

Reminders:

- Shorts are required under skirts.
- Long athletic shirts may only be worn on Fridays (this is applicable only for 7th and 8th graders).

- Backpacks must be clear or mesh, same as last year.

6th Grade Soccer is Here!

What a time to be a soccer fan this year with FIFA World Cup 2026 in our own backyard!  With the Summer heat and other activities, it’s easy to forget about local soccer! However, in its continuing tradition of giving new sixth grade students at J.L. Long Middle School an opportunity to play team sports, the YMCA and JL Long PTA are hoping for another great season of sixth grade soccer!   Under UIL Rules, sixth grade students cannot participate in school team sports, so this is a fantastic opportunity for children to stay active.  The team is co-ed and open to anyone attending JL Long or any nearby schools.  Players can be of any skill level including beginners.  The Fall teams first practice will be on August 18th and scheduled games will begin Saturday August 29th!
