Please contact SBDM Chair Doug Conner at DouglasConner03@gmail.com if you are interested in joining a new Dad's Club at Long. The goal will be to help out at the school as needed, and have some fun along the way. There will be a committee to get this idea and group started this fall. 

Thanks to the generosity of Lydia Hills Philanthropies, Dallas ISD is able to provide all K–8 students across the district with a field trip experience this year. A few important details:

• All chaperones must be VOLY-cleared.
• Chaperones will ride the bus with students and staff.
• Permission slips will be sent home with students in the coming weeks.

• Chaperone Sign-Up Genius links will be released after Labor Day through apptegy first (admin email). There will be 20 first come, first served chaperone spots per trip for parents/guardians.

The Long Strong Family Giving Campaign ends this Monday, August 31! Have you donated yet? Any amount counts!

200+ families have already contributed to the PTA operating budget for critical items such as: 

• Educational and arts enrichment opportunities
• Student safety and well-being initiatives
• Teacher and staff wish lists, classroom resources, and club support
• Campus and facility improvements... and so much more!!

Extended family and friends' donations can be rolled up with yours to reach a higher level for those Long Strong t-shirts, water bottles and tumblers ($250+ levels). Just have them note your name on the form. This merch will be delivered in September.

The J.L. Long Peace Pantry is available to any family in our school community and bags of food are sent home each week on Fridays. Your participation is completely confidential! There is no paperwork or qualification process. To sign up and get more details, contact Ms. Zamora (Parent Support Specialist) at audzamora@dallasisd.org or find her at school. Weekly bags of food will start Friday, September 11.

To donate to the Peace Pantry: please order today from the Wish Lists below to have supplies and food shipped directly to school. Thank you for your generosity and for caring for our school community!

The spirit store is open for online orders, and the next in-person sale and pickup event will be held on September 3rd from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM in the Spirit Store. 

Spirit Store is located in Room 237; when you walk in main doors, take a left and it is in the hallway between the gym and Zoo Crew.

Come see the Treasurettes perform at Long football games! Go Gold September 21 for Childhood Cancer Awareness and Pink Out on October 5 for Breast Cancer Awareness. See you at the game!
