Tomorrow we kick off STAAR Simulation testing with Reading! Please ensure that students arrive to campus on time and ready to test by 8:35 AM. Additionally, students do not need to bring backpacks with supplies. All students will be provided with a chromebook for testing and this will ensure that all students enter through morning security procedures quickly.

All grade level doors open at 8:10 AM to begin our morning arrival security process.

From 8:10 AM-8:25 AM, students are able to access all three arrival spaces. 

At 8:25 and once students are processed through that door, the entrance is closed off, and all students are routed toward the 7^th grade door. All staff outside ensure this communication.

It is the expectation that at 8:35 AM, students are in their seats and ready for instruction.

The 28th Annual Long Run on Thursday, April 9th is J.L. Long PTA's main fundraiser of the year!

The Run starts and finishes at the school, with options to do a 1K Family Fun Run/Walk or a 5K Certified Run on the Santa Fe trail. Runners and walkers of all ages and schools are welcome.

After the races, enjoy food, refreshments and entertainment. Each race entry ($35) includes a race t-shirt and food truck dinner. Awards will be given to the fastest runners by age group. Learn more and sign up here!

The Long Run on April 9th is our PTA’s main fundraiser of the year. Sponsorships are critical to fund our PTA’s operating budget. Opportunities range from $175-$5,000+ and will be great marketing exposure to our school community of over 1,000 students. The deadline to sponsor for full benefits is March 11th. Did you know that the JL Long Peace Pantry is available to any family in our school community? Bags of food are sent home each week on Fridays.  Your participation is completely confidential! There is no paperwork or qualification process. To sign up, contact Ms. Donelson (Librarian) at pdonelson@dallasisd.org or Ms. Zamora (Parent Support Specialist) at audzamora@dallasisd.org or find them at school.

Online order pick-up & shopping days during the school year will be in Room 237 (first floor hallway between front doors & gym) on the FIRST Thursday of every month from 3:45 to 4:15pm, unless indicated otherwise. All orders made by the Tuesday before the Thursday pick-up date will be available for pick-up. Any orders made after Tuesday will be available at the next scheduled pick-up date. Parents and/or students may pick-up an order or shop in person during our monthly store hours.
