MINI SCHOOL
STUDENT CHECK-OUT REMINDERS

The JL Long Administration has a few reminders regarding checking students out of the building during school.  Parents/guardians should do their best to schedule appointments for their student before or after school hours to avoid interference with instructional time during the school day.  It is understood that this may not always be possible, but please keep the following in mind when checking your student out for an appointment:

1.  Due to DISD regulations regarding COVID-19, parents are not permitted to enter the building when checking out students.  Please use the button located to the right of the middle doors in the front of the school to call the front office to let them know you are there to pick your child up for an appointment.

2.  Please have your photo ID ready to show to a staff member upon picking up your student.

3.  Students may not be checked out after 3:30 pm as all staff are busy preparing for the dismissal process.

4.  Please be mindful of the bell schedule when picking up your student as this will affect the amount of time it takes for office staff to locate and check your student out of class.  If you arrive close to a passing period, be prepared for it to take longer to locate and retrieve your student from class.

5.  There are a limited number of available staff in the front office to take care of student check-out.  There are no student office helpers this year to assist with check-out, and a staff member must be present in the office at all times to answer calls.  Please be courteous and understanding with the office staff as they assist you with check-out.

6.  Please be sure to obtain an excuse note from the provider for your appointment.  All notes can be returned to the attendance office by your student or you may fax your notes to (972) 502-4701 or e-mail them to Ms. Rivas at JRIVASSUAREZ@dallasisd.org

Due to high call volumes, questions regarding check-out procedures can be answered via email at ntanner@dallasisd.org or masher@dallasisd.org, or you may call the front office staff at 972-502-4700 (please be patient for our phone systems do get overloaded with calls and may seem like your call was dropped).
