STAAR Testing for 6th and 8th Grade will begin in May (and will continue for our 7th Graders).  In an effort to keep parents informed of the requirements established by the TEA for student testing and safety, JL Long Administration will be hosting parent meetings via Zoom for the each grade (schedule below).  Parents are encouraged to attend and learn about the plan that our school has enacted to test students safely and effectively.  

Specific testing dates are still being finalized and will be published in the coming weeks via the Buc News, PTA Website and JL Long Insider Page.

Our 7th Grade Students will begin taking the STAAR Writing Test in April.  In order to maintain all proper safety protocols for our students, they will be tested in smaller groups.  Groups are split up by the beginning letter of the students' last names.  Please see the schedule below for details on when your 7th Grade Student will take the Writing STAAR.

All 7th Grade Students (Virtual and On-Campus) not taking the STAAR should plan to attend school as usual on days that they are not scheduled to test.

7th Grade Parents who were unable to attend the STAAR Parent Information Sessions, you may view the information presented HERE.  We have also included some answers to Frequently Asked Questions after viewing the presentation.

Dallas ISD is asking parents to let us know their opinions about their children’s schools and other topics that will help us improve schools and the district overall. You can share your opinions by responding to the 2021 Parent Survey.

To share your opinion:

1. Click on this link

3. Enter your child’s student ID number (it can be found on the report card or in the student’s information in your Parent Portal account)
4. If you have more than one child in the same school, enter the student ID number of the oldest child (fill out only one survey per school)
5. Choose the school
6. Answer and submit the survey
7. If you have children at more than one school, please follow the steps for each of the schools
