Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we prepare for students to “Return to Learn”. The Long staff is working collectively to ensure our students achieve at unprecedented levels.

Starting January 5, 2021, students will continue following their assigned schedules whether they are face-to face or virtual.

Please remember that as we “Return to Learn, “student expectations are the following:

• Student work will be graded, and they are expected to complete all work assigned by teachers.
• Attendance will be recorded, and students are expected to attend their classes every day.

If coming in person, ensure the following:

• Child has mask on
• Child wears appropriate school attire

Parents you are the expert when it comes to your child. While some have thrived in remote learning, many have and may benefit from our on-campus social, emotional, and academic support. With just four weeks left in the semester, your student has the option of returning to campus to finish STRONG. Second semester officially begins on February 1.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved 8th Grade Counselor Glenda Onic-Thomas. Please keep her husband and her two sons in your thoughts and prayers.

Glenda Onic Thomas was granted her angel wings on December 24, 2020. Her final days were spent surrounded by family that Glenda loved and cherished throughout her memorable life.

Glenda’s laughter and presence will be greatly missed. We are forever grateful for her service to J.L. Long Middle School/ School of Health Professions at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center families, staff, and community.
