FIRST DAY OF 2nd NINE-WEEK GRADING PERIOD

As we begin the 2nd nine-week grading period today, it is more important than ever that our students remain engaged in their chosen learning environment.  Unlike the 2019-2020 school year, students will not be given passing grades just for attending class.  All students must complete the assigned work for each class and receive passing grades for their work and on tests to graduate to the next grade for the following school year.

The following guidelines should be noted and followed by all students:

  • Virtual Learners are required to attend all classes, every day, all day.
  • All distance learning students should follow their course schedules to virtually attend classes throughout the regularly scheduled school day.
  • Students should remain connected to their teacher via Zoom for the entire period.
  • Students not present in the Zoom will be marked absent.
  • Students not able to attend during this time should contact the teacher to inform them of the emergency preventing them from participating.
  • For students unable to engage regularly during regular school hours, a waiver will need to be completed for review by campus administration as to why the student must engage after regular school hours. Waiver

Second nine-week grading period is critical for student attendance and participation

FEEDER PATTERN NEWS
Calling All Mockingbird Alumni!

The The Garden Giving Campaign is in full swing at Mockingbird Elementary.  Please consider making a donation to this critical component of the science curriculum at MES!

Time to show your Lakewood Love! In order to continue its record-breaking fundraising efforts for the Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern, the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA has established the Lakewood Love Giving Campaign as the main fundraiser for the 44th Annual Lakewood Home Festival. While we can’t gather in person this year due to COVID-19, the fundraising goal is the same: contributions to Lakewood Love will provide much needed funds and supplies to Woodrow Wilson High School, J.L. Long Middle School and Lakewood Elementary. Last year alone, the LECPTA donated over $57,000 to Woodrow Wilson and $10,000 to the consolidated Peace Pantry effort that provides food to hundreds of families in need throughout our Woodrow Wilson feeder pattern.

If you are a supporter of Woodrow and the Lakewood community and love this neighborhood, our schools, and our children, please donate.

Thank you for your support. Now more than ever, coming together as a community is of the utmost importance. We are proud to uphold this treasured annual tradition to support our schools and dedicated teachers and know that it will be a success because of you.
