The Buc Band did a tremendous job kicking off our annual fundraiser! Last year we raised $22,000 and this year we are currently at $25,585!

We're not done yet! 

The fundraiser doesn't close until October 11th. Your student should have brought home a paper that has instructions on how to keep adding contacts and calling friends and family to see if they would like to donate and help us reach our $30,000 goal.

This money helps us with instruments, supplies, transportation, scholarships, and much much more. Help us provide the very best experience to every Buc Band member.

7th grade band students will hear from guest speakers and enjoy a special performance by the Prairie View A&M Marching Storm!

Band students attending this field trip will go to their 1st period class, then report to the band room at 9 am. A field trip roster will be sent out to all teachers and attendance will be corrected as needed. We will load the buses at 9:15 am and return to campus around noon. Students will attend C Lunch, then follow their normal schedule for the rest of the day.

• Friday, September 25th from 9 am - 12 pm at Ellis Davis Field House
  
  
• This field trip is for 7th grade Band students only.
  
  
• Students must have turned in their packet of forms to attend this field trip. Go find your kids forms.
  
  
• Attire: Red Band shirt with school-uniform bottoms. Students who have not received their red band shirt will receive it that day.

Experience the fun of being in a high school marching band! This will count as a performance grade, so all 8th grade students are expected to attend. Any students unable to attend need to provide a note, and will be given an alternate assignment.

After school, students should remain in the building and report to the Long Band Room. Food will be provided to students after school by the Woodrow Band Boosters, then we will load the bus around 5:15 pm. We will perform with the Woodrow Band during the first half and watch them perform their halftime show. 

We will leave after halftime, which should end around 8:30-9 pm.

• Friday, September 25th from 4 pm  - 9:30 pm. This event is for 8th grade Band students only.

• All students are required to ride the bus to and from the game.
  
  
• Please plan to pick up your studnets from J L Long around 9:30 p.m.

On September 27, 2026, the Buc Band has the opportunity to play at the Good Local Market at Tietze Park, 2700 Skillman Avenue, Dallas, TX 75214.

Those who participate need to bring their instruments home on Friday, September 25th. Percussionists need to let Mr. Howe know if they are participating so he can bring their drums.

Arrival time will be 8:30 am to warm up with a 9:00 am playing time. The band will be done around 9:30 am. Parents are responsible for bringing and taking home their student.

On September 26, 2026 Woodrow will be competing in the battle of the bands at John Kincaide Stadium, 9100 S Polk Street, Dallas, TX 75232. Come out and watch some amazing bands and support Woodrow! The Woodrow Band will recieve a portion of ticket sales.
