Communication is a vital component to a successful school year and we will do our best to keep you informed about upcoming events, fundraisers, and important school updates.
For the most up-to-date information, families should frequently access at least one of the many outlets the school and PTA use to communicate important news and updates: 

Did you know that the JL Long Peace Pantry is available to any family in our school community? Bags of food are sent home each week on Fridays.  Your participation is completely confidential! There is no paperwork or qualification process. To sign up, contact Ms. Donelson (Librarian) at pdonelson@dallasisd.org or Ms. Zamora (Parent Support Specialist) at audzamora@dallasisd.org or find them at school.

The JL Long Peace Pantry is available to any family in our school community. With the expected suspension of SNAP benefits in November, your donation means even more to our Peace Pantry families! Please order today from the Wish Lists below to have supplies and food shipped directly to school.

PICK UP LOCATION: Room 237

Online order pick-up & shopping days during the school year will be in Room 237 (first floor hallway between front doors & gym) on the FIRST Thursday of every month from 3:45 to 4:15pm, unless indicated otherwise. All orders made by the Tuesday before the Thursday pick-up date will be available for pick-up. Any orders made after Tuesday will be available at the next scheduled pick-up date. Parents and/or students may pick-up an order or shop in person during our monthly store hours.

Introducing a new, easy fundraiser for our school! If you are ordering holiday cards this season, please consider using the code "FUNDRAISEJLLONGPTA" to get 20% off your order AND 10% will go back to J.L. Long PTA's operating budget.

We just kicked off our 2025-2026 Fundraiser with TeamFunded, and we need every athlete/participant to follow these instructions and share with as many people as possible!  The more shares the better!  We need 100% participation - that’s every student in Long athletics!!   It only takes each student (or parent if the student does not have a phone) a couple of minutes to complete on their device.  Here we go:

1. Use the QR code to set up an account using your student’s name and phone number.  If your student does not have a phone, any phone number will do, just be sure to use your student’s name!

2.  Download the TeamFunded App & log in using your student’s name and the telephone number used.

3.  Press the RED share button.

4.  Press the GREEN bar that says click here to start sharing.

You can also post the fundraiser to your social media and copy the link to send out to work emails.
